Is it Christmas yet?

Brrr!! It is finally cold! Let’s hope it lasts. Every year with the onset of cold weather, I become extremely excited and ready for my favorite time of year, Christmas. I am one who would already have my house fully decorated for Christmas in October, if people would not think I was weird. When I decorate my house for the holiday season, it looks like a Christmas shop exploded because everywhere you look has a decoration of some kind. I hold out hope that one day people will not judge me and I can put my tree and other festive items up early. I just love this joyful time of year filled with Christmas music, lights, and of course, presents. Remember, I told you I love to shop, and the holiday season gives me another excuse to do so. This past weekend, I had no plans and very little homework so I spent the whole time curled up in a blanket on the couch watching Christmas movies. It did not matter that I had already seen them all. Good movies never get old, but it is

life

Life is beyond crazy right now with classes, moving, and personal things.   Today, I registered for my last semester of classes. College has gone by so fast and I cannot believe in just about 6 months, I will be graduating. The next six months are going to be just as chaotic. During that time, I will not only be student teaching, but also studying for all of my state certifications. I am extremely nervous about those exams because I am the worst test taker ever.   In conjunction with student teaching in New Braunfels, I am hoping to move there in December so that I do not have to commute back and forth from San Marcos everyday. I am so excited to have the opportunity to student teach in New Braunfels, as I hope to start my career there.   This will give me an opportunity to work with the principal, teachers, and students in order to make sure this is the place for me. I have a set environment in mind that I hope to teach at in order to provide the best education to my students.

Vampire

The funniest thing happened the other day while I was working with one of my students at my after school program. I was talking to a young boy about one of his questions when he looked and said, “whoa.” He jumped back with his eyes wide open. I asked what was wrong, and he said, “your teeth are like a vampire.” I immediately began laughing because I have always had children and people tell me how my canine teeth are extremely pointy. However, no one has ever actually asked me if I was a vampire. Finally, after I finished laughing, I replied, “ why yes I am a vampire. If you do not finish your homework and focus, I am going to bite you.” To my surprise he went straight to work, and never strayed the rest of the time.       A couple of days later, after forgetting about our conversation, the same little boy approached me. He asked if I was in the gym, flying around, and watching them as a bat. My response again was to laugh, and reply, “yes, I am always watching y’all.I have to

Stress or Senioritis

So today I feel very stressed. It is like I can never get ahead of all my assignments or things I need to do. Normally I am someone who likes to know of things that are due way in advance. So that I can prepare myself enough time to work on assignments and to fit everything into my schedule.              I have always been big on knowing what is going on for the week ahead of me such as planning my meals, workout schedule, and any extra things. For some reason though I just can not get ahead. Maybe it is senioritis?   Lets hope I get everything together soon.

What's a list?

I am just going to admit it, I am a shopaholic even at HEB. Simply like any other time, I made a list of all the groceries I needed to survive the week. The plan was to by nothing extra, and simply get only the necessities.             As I drove around HEB for what felt like an hour, looking for a parking spot, my blood pressure began to rise. You know what I mean, if you have ever been to San Marcos’ HEB because there is never any parking. Finally, after finding a spot at the very end, I took the time to coach myself to only get the things that were on my list. Nothing else! I told myself such things as “you do not need any extra junk food,” “or any other random food you think you might need.”             Following a lot of mental preparation, I finally took on the task of grocery shopping. The idea was to stick on the outside isles because “supposedly that is where all the healthy food is.” I started out on the vegetable side, got everything I need, and made my way
